Research and planning: Drafts of advert

The drafting process was crucial to us because it helped us to make targets so that our final advert would fulfil the conventions of the hip hop/soul genre.

Draft 1:

This draft had a good use of artist image, but it was mostly a poor draft. The main issue was that this draft was computerized this didn't reflect our creativity. Also, there was inconsistency with the colours that was used in this draft this doesn't reflect the same campaign being promoted.

Draft 2:

This draft had as expected included key information. The main good feedback from this draft is that the typography was appealing as there was good size presence of the artist name compared to the other key information in this advert draft.

Our final product needed to deliver by fulfilling conventions of the hip hop soul genre with different aspects like typography contributing.

Final product:

This final advert had strongly fulfilled conventions of it's genre mainly with the artist image that is used. Furthermore, the typography is strongly appealing. But most importantly the background related to our music video lost.

Research and planning digipak: Drafts of digipak

The drafting process has been beneficial to the group and I because it made us aware whether we were on the right path to making our digipak conventional to the genre of hip hop/soul. Therefore, improvements that needed to be made were pointed out every time so that our final digipak can deliver.

The Drafts:

There were good things about this draft, key information like the title of the album was included. Also, there was good use of star image of our artist. However there were vast improvements that needed to happen. The first obvious improvement to make was to include the artist name which we didn't do also, the background didn't relate to the music video we carried out which was one of our main singles.

This 2nd draft had a good mixture of colours as well as it's tone/light. In addition there was key information included like the artist name along with the album title and track-list. However, yet again improvements had to be made as the background didn't relate to our music video product also the typography didn't connote the masculinity of the hip hop genre.

For our final product we needed to ensure that our final digipak fulfilled the conventions that are required for it's genre from the typography to he artist Image.

Key information was included, and there was good use of star image of the artist.
